The Use of Truxal(chlorprothixene) in the Psychiatric Patients

Abstract

|
|
Clinical research on "Truxal" revealed that there were good effect on chronic schizophrenic patients to whom EST, insulin shock and chlorpromazine have not responded well. In addition to above schizophrenic patients, for psychiatric cases, such as psychoneurotic, MDR patients and some kinds of addicts, its use was also remarkably effective. Particularly we have found "Truxal" having not only anti-psychotic effects but also potent sedative effects for psychomotor irritability, anxiety and tension state. Comparing to the other tranquilizers, it was found to have less side effects to higher dosage and prolonged medication. This is the result of the clinical follow up studies, completed, with patients who had been given Truxal offered by H, Lundbeck phar. Co.
